Reptiles: The Beautiful & the Deadly
REPTILES: The Beautiful and the Deadly is a large-scale traveling exhibition that introduces audiences to the class Reptilia in an exciting and compelling format. There is no substitute for living animals, and this exhibition features many of the world's most recognized reptiles - vipers, cobras, pythons, alligators, monitors, snapping turtles, etc. Visitors are introduced to the four major groups of modern reptiles with living dioramas, engaging interactives, and bold interpretive graphics (including superb photographs by internationally-known wildlife photographer Joe McDonald).
REPTILES: The Beautiful and the Deadly answers the fundamental questions, "What is a Reptile?, a Turtle?, a Crocodilian?, a Lizard? and a Snake?" Interpretive graphics and interactives focus on anatomy, behavior, ecology and conservation themes. The experience is meant to explode common myths and foster a basic understanding of how reptiles fit into the animal kingdom and their native environments.
REPTILES: The Beautiful and the Deadly combines the best elements of zoo and museum exhibitry. There is no travelling reptile exhibition anywhere equal to this one in scope or quality.
Museums, zoos, science centers, malls and other institutions need exhibitions that attract people. Reptiles are more popular than ever - just look at the programming on Discovery Channel, PBS and Animal Planet! REPTILES: The Beautiful and the Deadly is a major zoological attraction with pulling power - properly promoted, it will increase attendance.
The modular design of the exhibition permits tremendous setup flexibility. The exhibition can be accommodated in 2,500 to 5,500 square feet, depending upon which components are included. The full exhibition includes 19 living dioramas, 15 interactive components and over 35 informative panels. An experienced zoo professional remains with the exhibition to care for the living collection and maintain safety protocols.
